Well, it’s official, Samsung and Sprint have announced their plan to sell a white version of the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch. Starting January 8, 2012, all customers on The Now Network will be able to get their hands on this “Frost White” edition. The device will retail for $199 with a new two-year agreement — available online, in Sprint retail stores, and at authorized dealers. Functionally is identical to the existing Epic 4G Touch, the “frost white” variant still offers both 3G and 4G access, a 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor from Samsung’s own chipset stable, and a 4.52 Super AMOLED Plus display.
For those who need a bit of a refresher, the Epic 4G Touch also packs a 8-megapixel camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread with TouchWiz, and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video calls. The Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch will be a legit all white, with both front and backsides being snow-colored.
Sprint customers out there, the standard rules about contract purchases apply. As I mentioned before, the $199 price tag is only available with a 2-year agreement, and the additional $10 smartphone charge will be applied, so, you may want to check your 4G availability in your location before purchase.
