Motorola surprised everyone with its decision to release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Cliq 2 smartphone. You got that right – Motorola Cliq 2, which we thought is a dead product, is getting the update.
According to a post at Moto’s forums, the company is looking for some 1,000 customers to “test and provide feedback on the Gingerbread software upgrade for the Motorola Cliq 2, before it is officially released to customers.”
If you’re in the “affected group,” make sure to respond the call. After all, we’re not sure just how many Cliq 2 owners are left.
In any case, we hope users won’t have to wait for too long and that sooner or later, they’ll get their Gingerbread fix. When that happens, make sure to backup all your data prior to proceeding. God knows something could always go wrong so it’s better to have all your key information safely backed up on a computer.
