Sony released new beta ROMs for select Xperia models, namely Xperia Arc S, Xperia Ray and Xperia Neo V. Once installed, you’ll get few of the gizmos you may’ve seen from the Xperia S and Xperia ion demos, including:

  • Updated UI
  • Lockscreen improvements – there’s a shortcut to the camera directly from the lockscreen, as well as the ability to control your music even when the device is locked. The final ICS upgrade will also come with the Face Unlock feature.
  • Connectivity turned on – this is an improvement when compared to the ICS alpha ROM, when GSM modem and FM radio haven’t worked.
  • Updated email client – improved UI and simplified email management.
  • Quick dial

Note that this isn’t the final build so you’re doing everything at your own risk. You can check out how to proceed from this page at Sony Mobile’s website. But before hitting that link, check out a short demo video of the new ICS beta built in action below. Enjoy!
