File this under “rumors,” cause we don’t have this officially confirmed, but it seems next T-Mobile myTouch devices will be made by Huawei, as illustrated by the image above. It is said that the Magenta carrier will be adding two Gingerbread phones, U8680 and U8730, both with a WVGA touchscreen with one of them also sporting a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard. The rumor goes on suggesting this duo will be introduced at some point in late spring, probably at the end of May. If we had to bet, both the U8680 and U8730 will be offered for next to nothing to anyone willing to commit on a new two-year contract.
It’s kinda interesting to watch Huawei’s rise in the Android world. In fact we could compare their path to the one HTC took couple years before, turning from a nameless OEM into a well-known brand. We’ll see whether they will be able to follow through like HTC did…
