Apple to hold a Monday morning conference call about its $100B cash reserve

Apple announced on Sunday it will hold an early Monday morning conference call (6:00 a.m. PDT/9:00 a.m. EDT) about its almost $100 billion cash reserve. The company hinted during its last earnings conference call that it was carefully considering what it should do with its pile of cash and now it apparently has a plan it wants to share with the public.

In its statement, Apple says this call will be about its cash plans only. The company will not discuss its current quarter so don’t expect to hear any iPad or iPhone sales figures. The timing of the call coincides with the start of the trading day on Monday so it’s likely good news that Wall Street will be eager to hear.  Most analysts expect Apple to announce a stock buyback strategy , a plan to pay dividends to investors or an acquisition that’s in the works. Apple may also use some of that money to improve working conditions in Chinese factories.

You can visit Apple’s website for details on how to listen to the call.
