Precise Biometrics wants to extend the built-in security of the iOS-powered devices like the iPhone and iPad. To that end, they’ve launched Tactivo cases, which boast fingerprint reader and which will be available later in the summer.

Here’s what you should know (from the press release):

Tactivo is a smart casing for tablets and smartphones that includes an embedded fingerprint and smart card reader. Together with different types of apps, Tactivo enables government agencies and companies to maintain a high level of security when employees use mobile units to access sensitive information.

The first generation of Tactivo is being launched for iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, while the iPad case will follow soon afterwards.

We dig the extra security though this is something certain government agencies and few enterprises will appreciate much more. As far as I’m concerned, iPhone’s built-in security is good enough. 😉
