Verizon has just announced that customers lusting after the Samsung Galaxy S III will be able to preorder the device starting June 6th at 7am EDT. The U.S. version of the Galaxy S III will feature largely the same specs as the international version, but will ditch the quad-core processor for the dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and adds another GB of RAM.
Verizon will be selling the device for a reasonable $199.99 for the 16GB model and $249.99 for the 32GB model, markedly lower than the $300 it normally charges for flagship devices. Of course, you’ll need to sign on for a new 2 year agreement to get the subsidized price. Verizon hasn’t yet announced the full retail price of the Galaxy S III for those not looking to extend their contract.
Full specs for the Galaxy S III include:
- 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
- 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED display
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 8.0 megapixel rear-camera with zero shutter lag
- 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera
- 4G LTE
- 2GB RAM
- Smart Stay, S-Voice, AllShare Play
Preorders for the Galaxy S III will go live on the Verizon Galaxy S III site this Wednesday, June 6th at 7am EST. This device will become the must-have Android device when it launches on all major networks later this month, and you’d certainly do well to pick one up if you’re in the market.
