Nike+ FuelBand now integrates with Path

Path has always had a sweet spot in my heart. I’ve complimented the social networking app to my friends and peers. I’ve even gone as far as talking highly about the mobile application on TV (here). Well, with today’s announcement, Path continues its reign as the little engine that could in a world filled with giant social networking platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc. Today the San Francisco based company announced integration with Nike’s newly released workout tool FuelBand.

For those of you who don’t know much about Path, allow for me to educate you. Path is an application that gives users a simple way to keep a journal, or “Path,” of their life on the go. It’s a great way to share your life with the people you really care about — without all the clutter you’d find on a platform like Facebook. The company began a close relationship with Nike+ four months ago, and has extended that partnership with its deep integration of FuelBand.

The way this works is once you connect the newly updated version of the FuelBand app with Path, your Fuel score will automatically appear within Path once a day. You’ll be able to see a graph of how much “Fuel” you’ve accumulated during the day. Path even came up with a clever idea of allowing for events to be integrated so you can see what caused your score to either rise or fall.

Again, I really enjoy this app and I hope the folks over at Path continue to make the niche market of intimate social networking a viable option to many users out there who hate the mass appeal of the larger social networks.
