Guess what – Samsung won’t be the only handset maker to launch a successor to its phablet device this fall, with LG also planning to release the Optimus Vu 2 at about the same time. However, unlike Samsung’s upcoming device which we’re hearing will rock a new quad-core processor and an even larger screen, the Optimus Vu 2 is a smaller update, with the only difference being in the CPU used. Instead of rocking an old-school Qualcomm Snapdragon S3, the Vu 2 will opt for the faster Snapdragon S4 (and perhaps more RAM). Moreover, we’re sure there will be slight changes in the design, but expect the same 5-inch 4:3 1024×768 touchscreen, 3G/4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, NFC, and all other bells and whistles a modern smartphone has.
Are we eager to try it out? Well, no. I didn’t like the original Galaxy Note cause it’s too big for me. One commenter, an obvious fan of the phablet device, even called me a hobbit cause my pants don’t have big enough pockets to handle the Note. So I’ll opt for the Galaxy S III instead, what about you?
