An iPhone app helps musicians improve their singing

Just when we thought we’ve seen an app for just about anything, renowned vocalists and voice instructors Susan Carr and Wolf Carr surprised us with an iPhone app made to help musicians improve their singing while on the go. “The Art of Screaming – Create Your Own Vocal Warm-up” brings expertly crafted exercises for different singing levels and includes 30 instructional videos with a piano accompaniment for each vocal exercise.

Moreover, it allows users to create their own personalized vocal warm-ups to use before they take the stage from categories such as head voice, head belt, chest, falsetto, blending, controlling air flow, strength and breathing exercises.

Sounds pretty cool to me even though I’m far from expert in this field (singing). The application is pretty expensive — it costs $13 bucks — the fact that is justified by Susan and Wolf’ credentials; their students have received many accolades including Grammy Nominations, and they’ve been working with a number of famous artists like Modest Mouse, The Fleet Foxes, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Minus the Bear, Yacht, Biohazard, Grizzly Bear, Yob and Sunny Day Real Estate…
