Old School Final Fantasy fans have something to rejoice about, that is at least, if you’re an iOS user. Square Enix has released it’s new iteration of the Final Fantasy universe, All The Bravest. Final Fantasy: ATB looks a heck of a lot like Super Nintendo era Final Fantasy games, and combat is based on Final Fantasy’s classic Active Time Battle System, in which players possess a gauge that displays the time remaining until that character can execute an action. Once the character’s gauge is full, players simply tap on the enemy to attack. Introducing this feature will no doubt bring some furious tapping action once the battles ensue.
Final Fantasy: ATB features your favorite characters from throughout the massive Final Fantasy universe, Chocobos, Moogles and all. Also included is the jobs system, allowing players to utilize over 20 different jobs such as white mage, black mage, thief, monk and warrior. The soundtrack includes over 30 different Final Fantasy tracks, which you can rock out to as you destroy everything that steps in your path. There is also an in-game shop, which allows players purchace content such as characters and new worlds.
“The in-game shop offers access to 35 famous characters from a number of Final Fantasy titles. Each purchase ensures you will receive a new, random character. Which powerful favorites will you have join your party? You are also able to purchase additional game stages from Final Fantasy VII, X, and XIII. Board airships bound for new worlds where further adventures await!”
Final Fantasy: ATB also offers global leaderboards that will rank players based on certain stats, which can then be shared through Facebook, Twitter. Sharing on these services will allow players to obtain new character slots, so the more you share the bigger your party becomes.
With the inclusion of a whole slew of Final Fantasy characters and a very furious looking battle system, Final Fantasy: ATB is a fans dream. Square Enix is offering this title for $3.99 and additional characters for $.99. If you use iOS, grab this now. If you’re an Android user, cast level 20 Haste on Square Enix so that we get a port soon.
