AllThingsD: HTC One to land on Verizon Wireless, eventually

According to AllThingsD, HTC’s flagship One handset will land on Verizon in the upcoming months. When the handset was announced earlier this year, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile each confirmed it would sell the handset. Noticeably absent from this list was Verizon Wireless, which said nothing about the phone.

Sources familiar with the matter told AllThingsD that Verizon will release a version of the HTC One shortly after the phone debuts on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The phone will be delayed a month or two due to Verizon’s extensive handset testing process. Even though its launch may be staggered in the US, the possibility that the HTC One could land on all four major carriers is good news for HTC. The Taiwanese manufacturer needs a strong presence to reverse its gradual descent.
