China-only: GooPhone X1 is the world’s cheapest quad-core phone!

GooPhone X1 is the world's cheapest quad-core phone!

People of China will soon be able to get a quad-core smartphone for less than $100. The device will be made by GooPhone, which we best know as a maker of the fake HTC One and because of that can’t really recommend their products. Still, we gotta admit that the GooPhone X1 packs quite a bang for the buck.

Specs wise, it has a 4.7-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) screen, MediaTek’s MT6589 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 2-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, dual-SIM support and a 1800mAh battery, while Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show.

As usual, the X1 will likely be available only in China with perhaps some surrounding countries getting it, as well. Those living in the West will have to get it from some importer or from a friend travelling to the world’s most populous country — or get some “real phone” made by a well-known vendor…
