Nexus 7 Successor Gets Pricing Leaked

We’re all more than aware that Google is readying its Nexus 7 successor to launch in the near future. After all, the original tablet turned a year old last week, so we’d say we’re about due for the next generation of the popular tablet. Well, we could see the announcement of the Nexus 7 refresh as soon as next week, but you don’t need to wait if you want to know how much the 7 inch tablet will cost you.

The guys over at Android Central received the prices of the upcoming device, and if you were hoping that it would retain the original $200 starting price point, you’re going to be a bit disappointed.

According to picture below, the new starting price for the 16GB model of the tablet will be $229, which isn’t too hard to swallow. If you’re looking to grab the 32GB version of the tablet, you’ll have to cough up $269. The photo makes no mention of the mobile data enabled versions of the device, but we’d guess that there’s little chance they will retain the original pricing, either.

The refreshed Nexus 7 is rumored to ship with an updated display, faster CPU, and rear camera this time around, but there could be a few other specs that Google threw in that we’re unaware of. While we have our doubts, we’d still like to see Google throw in a micro SD card slot.

We only have a week to find out what Google has up it’s sleeve at it’s July 24th event, and we’re hoping to see the new Nexus 7 make its debut there.
