It was back in January when we’ve told you that NVIDIA is working on reference designs for smartphones and tablets. Well, the tablet design is (almost) ready and it’s called Tegra Note.
The prototype device has been caught in the wild in China, and it’s pretty awesome. Specs wise, this thing packs a 7-inch 1280×768 HD screen, Tegra 4 quad-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera, front-facing camera, microSD slot, HDMI and stylus support.
Of course we don’t expect NVIDIA to enter the “tablet game” directly. Rather other companies will use the Tegra Note reference design to launch their own products. And in that sense we should see a number of Tegra 4-powered tablets hitting the market soon. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised that a number of tablets with these specs are released just in time for the Christmas shopping season. As usual, we’ll make sure you don’t miss a beat…
