We’ve been telling you that Samsung is preparing to update its Exynos 5 Octa chip and allow all of its 8 cores (4 Cortex-A15 plus 4 Cortex-A7) to work at once when needed. Well, Meizu will also be affected by this update as its new MX3 flagship uses the same chip. Even better news is that this phone packs the same Exynos 5 Octa as the one found in some versions of the Galaxy S4, hinting us that Sammy’s baby will also get that treatment (cause we thought this update will only work with newer chips).

The Chinese handset maker shared the good news in its forums, saying that the M3 will gain the support to use all cores when Samsung releases it in Q4 this year.

Meanwhile, you are free to learn all about this upcoming update from our previous post, featuring 3 videos demoing ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture.
