Today Sony announced its plan to launch its hottest devices in the US, including the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and the Smartwatch 2.
Both the Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra are now available in select Sony stores and online:
Sony Xperia Z1 (HSPA+) – $649.99
Sony Xperia Z Ultra (HSPA+) – $649.99
Sony Xperia Z Ultra (LTE) – $679.99
At the moment, only the Xperia Z Ultra LTE is in stock, with the HSPA+ version, the Smartwatch 2, and Z1 are all currently up for pre-order.
The lack of a LTE-enabled Xperia Z1 is pretty interesting, as the company may be saving the variant for a launch on T-Mobile. It wasn’t long ago that we saw a T-Mobile branded Z1 in a render, so we still might be seeing the device in all of its LTE goodness in the future.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is the largest screen we’ve seen on a phablet device before and has a pretty great spec list to back it. However, shutterbugs will have their eyes on the Xperia Z1’s 20 megapixel camera and more.
