Punit Soni, VP of Product Management at Motorola Mobility, announced that select Moto phones will soon get the Android 4.4 KitKat updates. Among those getting this candy are the Moto X, RAZR HD Developer Edition as well as newer Verizon Droids like Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx. Other models like RAZR M, RAZR HD and MAXX HD will have to wait another day to get the same treatment.
Motorola didn’t share any dates with Punit saying he doesn’t like to “discuss timing” as it “puts a lot of stress on the team,” and there is always a chance they find something which delays the launch a bit.
“Rest assured, we are on it,” he continued, adding that we can count on the speed with which Moto is moving as a Google company. We definitely like that speed but we dislike the fact that Moto X is still not available all around the world. Alas, that’s a different issue…
