Google has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat updates for Nexus 10, and both 2012 and 2013 models of the Nexus 7.

Included with the new software are number of improvements such as better memory management, voice search, faster multitasking, easier home screen switching, low-power audio playback, as well as some features you would want on a phone rather than tablet, like improved caller ID and step counting.

It’s important to add that only Wi-Fi Nexus 7 will be “affected” with this update whereas the 3G-enabled variant will follow shortly. This is also true with the Nexus 4, and we’re guessing both of these devices will get their KitKats in the next few days or weeks. We’ll let you know when that happens; stay tuned in the meantime…
