Samsung has officially announced Galaxy J in Taiwan. The device that is an upgraded model of the Galaxy S4 comes with a super-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip clocked at 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM. Rest of its specs are identical to the Galaxy S4 and include a 13-megapixel camera on the back, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE connectivity support, 2,600 mAh battery and a ton of internal storage that is expandable with microSD cards.
Aside from Taiwan, a similar model has been unveiled in Japan, while folks in South Korea and Germany can get the LTE-Advanced model (which too rocks Snapdragon 800). It remains to be seen when this improved Galaxy S4 will be available in other countries.
In the meantime, folks in Taiwan can pick the Galaxy J from all major carriers (Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, and FarEasTone) or get it unlocked for the equivalent of $740.
