Well folks, the wait is almost over. Now we have it officially confirmed – Meizu will be one of the companies to make the first Meizu smartphone. It won’t be alone though with Spain-based BQ Readers also jumping on the opportunity.
No other details are known — like when exactly these devices will be available for purchase — but we should get all the missing details soon.
Moreover, Canonical’s founder Mark Shuttleworth said that we’ll see two additional manufacturers with “household names” coming on board in 2015. We can only speculate which these two companies are.
He went on to add that they are working to bring top 50 mobile apps to Ubuntu by the end of the year. Among the companies that have already agreed to support the platform are Evernote, LastPass and Grooveshark, but there’s obviously a lot of work to do.
Meanwhile, we expect to see some phones and demos at Ubuntu’s booth in Barcelona. Can’t wait. 😉
