While Infamous: Second Son has yet to hit the streets, we’re already beginning to hear rumblings of a possible sequel and DLC for the franchise.
With a new (anti)Hero in Second Son, the possibilities for the Infamous franchise are seemingly endless, and Sucker Punch is very aware of this.
When speaking to IGN, Sucker Punch’s Nate Fox said the following about the franchise.
“I certainly think Infamous is a great franchise for more games because it’s just about an everyday guy that gets powers and decides if he wants to use them for good or evil, and that’s a lot of stories, you know? That’s somebody young or old, male or female, in any country in the world. It’d work.”
Given the reality-bending premise of the series, more games and DLC would only make sense. Infamous 2 received one DLC expansion, Festival of Blood, which dealt with vampires. Festival of Blood was short and simple, but worked well, and if that can work, we’d be surprised to see something equally as ambitious and interesting fail for the series.
The marketing push for the title is the best we’ve seen from the franchise, including live action videos like the one below. Needless to say, Sony and Sucker Punch are more than a little proud of the next-gen Infamous game.
Infamous: Second Son will be released on March 21st for the PS4, and it can’t get here soon enough. Be sure to check out the trailer below if you’ve yet to do so.
