While we’re still not sure whether the earlier rumored Nexus 8 will be unveiled this year or not, we’ve got additional details about this upcoming tablet.
According to China-based MyDrivers, the images you can see on this page present the 8-inch Google tablet, which is wrapped up in a shell that protects the device from prying eyes. Don’t worry – Google wouldn’t allow such huge/ugly bezel around its products.
The same site says that this tablet could pack one of Qualcomm’s forthcoming 64-bit chips. We know that Snapdragon 808 and 810 won’t hit the market before 2015, so Google and its OEM partner may end-up choosing between Snapdragon 410, 610 and 615. In addition, Nexus 8 will also pack 3GB of RAM and run Android 4.5 out of box. The mentioned Android release will reportedly include a number of changes to accommodate the next-gen 64-bit processors.
We’re still clueless which OEM will end-up making the Nexus 8. From what we’ve understood, Asus and HTC are both strong contenders, though you never know. Perhaps Samsung, LG or Lenovo gets that privilege. We’ll see…
