British retailer Tesco is no stranger to mobile technology; it operates an MVNO and has even launched its own-brand tablet, which just got an update in the form of Hudl 2.
Said device offers a solid bang for the buck: it packs an 8.3-inch full HD screen (265ppi), Intel’s Atom quad-core chip clocked at 1.83GHz, Dolby optimized speakers, 2GB of RAM and 16B of expandable storage. In addition, the device also comes with a pair of cameras: 5MP one on the back and 1.2MP selfie shooter.
In a nutshell, we’re talking about a decent mid-range tablet that will work for majority of users. However, what makes it really great is the price – the Tesco Hudl 2 will start selling on October 9th for £129 (about $206). Considering Tesco’s vast reach throughout Europe, we expect this to be one of the best-selling tablets during the upcoming Christmas shopping season. Though we’re still not sure whether this will be a UK-exclusive product or not.
All being said, we’re guessing Tesco won’t be the only major retailer to offer its own-brand tablet. We’ll let you know when we hear something new on that front, k?
