While Google has made no bones about the upcoming Android 5.0 release, we were left scratching our heads as to just what name the newest Android build will take. The name is no longer a mystery as Google has just announced that Android 5.0 will indeed go by the name Lollipop. The new version of the OS is promising not only a new look (vis-a-vis Material Design) but the ability to work across multiple Android devices with no interruptions.
So, what else is new in Lollipop? You’ll be able to customize notifications, squeeze more life out of your battery with a new battery saver feature, multiple user accounts and the ability to unlock your device by pairing your device with another trusted device. That’s just the tip of the iceberg – Lollipop is slated to deliver tons of more features. Head here for a full rundown from Google.
Android 5.0 Lollipop will appear first on the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 and will begin rolling out to other devices shortly thereafter.
