Google’s Nexus Payer and the HTC Nexus 9 are now available on the Google Play Store. The Nexus Player is a set-top box the likes of Amazon’s Fire TV and Roku while the Nexus 9 is a 8.9 inch powerhouse of a tablet made by HTC and running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Nexus 9 is showing a shipping date of one to two days while the Nexus Player is set to ship in two to three weeks.
The HTC Nexus 9 is available in Indigo Black or Lunar White and comes in 16 or 32GB versions. The WiFi only units are available for purchase today, at $399 for 16GB of storage and $479 for 32GB. The sleek tablet sports a NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset and Kepler GPU.
Google’s Nexus Player is a $99 device that finally brings a functional Android to the TV. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the little player-that-could comes with a Roku-like remote and like the Amazon Fire TV is compatible with a gaming controller which is available for an extra $39.
