A software update for the NVIDIA Shield portable is currently rolling out, and sadly it’s not the sought after Android 5.0 Lollipop update that we’re all waiting patently for. New software updates are always welcome, but with the huge Lollipop update looming on the horizon its hard not to be a little underwhelmed by a rather boring update. NVIDIA has promised Lollipop for Shield Tablet owners by the end of November, but hasn’t mentioned the time frame for Lollipop’s rollout to the Shield Portable.
Here’s what you’ll find in upgrade 99 for the Shield Portable:
- Improves battery drain when SHIELD portable lid is closed
- Updates the latest SHIELD hub app available on Google Play Store
- Fixes a bug that does not allow videos to be played from Facebook, using Browser or Chrome, or on the YouTube app
- Fixes a bug to enable support for 4K content in Console Mode
Be on the lookout for the update to land on your device in the coming days.
