iOS and Android Instagram users are in for a treat as the company has updated both its iOS and Android apps with some new ways to participate in the ever-expanding Instagram universe. The update brings the ability to edit photo captions, find people to follow a and find cool photos and people to follow with an upgrade to the Explore tab. Tapping on the Explore tab will bring up interesting photos and people, and editing a simple typo on a post caption can now be completed with a simple tap.

Here’s all the goodies packed into the latest Instagram update:

·      Headlining the new release is caption-editing, one of the most requested features. Notice a typo or think of a wittier caption after you posted to Instagram? No problem, now you can make sure you capture the moment in words just the way you want to.

·      Instagram is also introducing a People tab on the Explore page, a place to find new accounts to follow and enjoy. Overall, around 40% of Instagram’s daily users visit the Explore page on an average day. It’s a great place for discovery on Instagram.

·      We’ve also made some improvements under the hood to make it easier and faster to find the accounts you’re searching for, including typeahead search, which delivers results dynamically as you enter each letter.

·      You’ll also notice that things on the Explore page look a bit different: a new icon and a more prominent search box.

The update began its rollout yesterday, so it should land on your device soon if it hasn’t already.
