Honor Power 3 specs leak reveals enormous 12,000mAh battery, 3nm Dimensity 8600 chip

Honor is preparing to push the boundaries of smartphone battery capacity with its upcoming Power 3 device. Early specifications leaked by tipster Digital Chat Station suggest the phone could pack an enormous battery between 11,000mAh and 12,000mAh, making it one of the largest ever fitted into a consumer smartphone.

The Power 3 appears to be Honor’s answer to the growing demand for phones that can last multiple days on a single charge. This move comes as smartphone users increasingly rely on their devices for work, entertainment, and communication throughout extended periods away from charging points.

According to the leaked specifications, the Honor Power 3 will feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display with 2.5D glass. The phone is expected to run on MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity 8600 series chipset, targeting the mid-range segment while focusing heavily on battery life and performance optimization.

The massive battery capacity represents a significant jump from the Honor Power 2, which launched earlier this year with a 10,080mAh battery. If the 12,000mAh capacity proves accurate, the Power 3 would join an exclusive club of ultra-high-capacity smartphones that prioritize endurance over slim profiles.

This development fits into a broader industry trend where manufacturers are exploring extreme battery capacities for specific market segments. While flagship phones typically balance battery life with design aesthetics, the Power series appears designed for users who prioritize functionality over form factor.

The Dimensity 8600 chipset powering the Power 3 won’t be exclusive to Honor. The same processor is expected to appear in devices from multiple manufacturers:

  • Vivo and Oppo branded phones
  • Redmi Turbo 6
  • Poco X9 Pro

Honor’s timeline suggests the Power 3 could debut in early 2027, roughly one year after the Power 2’s January 2026 launch. The company is also working on other devices for the Chinese market, including the Magic 9 series expected in October and the performance-focused Win 2 series by year-end.

The engineering prototype stage means specifications could still change before the final release. However, the focus on extreme battery capacity signals Honor’s commitment to serving users who need maximum uptime from their devices, even if it means accepting a bulkier form factor.
