Honor Magic V6 foldable phone finally arrives in global markets with massive 6,660 mAh battery

Honor is bringing its impressive Magic V6 foldable phone to global markets this month, three months after its initial debut. The company announced the worldwide rollout will begin in June, targeting Europe, the Middle East, and select Asia-Pacific regions.

The Magic V6 stands out in the crowded foldable market primarily due to its exceptional battery life rather than just thinness. While many manufacturers focus on making devices slimmer, Honor packed a massive 6,660 mAh battery into this foldable – significantly larger than most competitors. This approach addresses one of the biggest pain points for foldable users: poor battery endurance.

The timing puts Honor in direct competition with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and other major foldable releases expected this year. The foldable phone market is heating up as more manufacturers enter the space and prices gradually become more accessible to mainstream consumers.

The Magic V6 measures just 8.75mm when folded and weighs 219g, making it relatively compact for a device with such a large battery. The phone features:

  • 6.52-inch outer display and 7.95-inch inner display with improved crease reduction
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset running Android 16
  • 12-16GB of RAM depending on the model
  • Storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB
  • 80W fast charging support
  • IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance
  • Triple rear camera system with 50MP main, 64MP telephoto, and 50MP ultrawide sensors

The device also supports AirDrop functionality through Quick Share, making it one of the latest Android phones to offer seamless file sharing with Apple devices. This cross-platform compatibility is becoming increasingly important as users often switch between different ecosystems.

Malaysia will be among the first markets to receive the Magic V6, with a price tag of RM 7,699 (approximately $1,900 USD). Pre-orders in Malaysia started today and will continue through June 11. Singapore is expected to follow shortly after, with other regions receiving the device throughout June.

The global launch represents Honor’s continued push to establish itself as a major player in the premium Android market. Since spinning off from Huawei, the company has been working to rebuild its international presence and credibility with consumers who may be unfamiliar with the brand outside of China.

Honor’s focus on battery life over extreme thinness could prove to be a smart differentiator. While foldables have impressed users with their innovative designs, many still struggle with day-long battery life due to the power demands of dual displays and complex hinge mechanisms. The Magic V6’s 6,660 mAh capacity addresses this core usability concern directly.
