Vivo Y500 4G is coming with a massive 8,100mAh battery

Vivo is getting ready to launch the Y500 4G, and the company has now officially teased the phone’s global debut. The biggest headline here is the battery: 8,100mAh, which is a genuinely large number for a mid-range device. For context, most phones in this segment ship with 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh cells, so Vivo is clearly making battery life the Y500’s main selling point.

The teaser follows an earlier listing of the Y500 4G on Google Play Console in June 2026, which is usually a sign that a device is close to going on sale. Google Play Console listings tend to surface just before a phone hits retail, so the timing lines up with the global teaser. Gadgets360 reported on both developments, tracking the phone from its initial console appearance to the official tease.

Budget and mid-range phones have been quietly turning into battery endurance machines over the past couple of years. Brands are competing hard on specs that matter to everyday users, and battery life consistently tops that list. A phone that can comfortably last two days on a charge is a real differentiator in a crowded market, especially in regions like Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Africa where the Y series typically sells well.

Beyond the 8,100mAh battery, full specifications for the Y500 4G have not been officially confirmed yet. Based on what has surfaced so far, here is what we know or can reasonably expect from a phone in this category:

  • 8,100mAh battery, confirmed by Vivo’s own teaser
  • 4G connectivity, meaning it will not support 5G networks
  • Mid-range or entry-level chipset, likely paired with Android
  • A price point aimed at budget-conscious buyers

The 4G label is worth noting. While 5G phones are becoming more common even at lower price points, there is still a large global market for 4G devices. Many buyers in emerging markets either do not have access to 5G networks yet or simply do not want to pay extra for a feature they cannot use. Vivo’s decision to keep this model on 4G keeps costs down and makes the phone accessible to a wider audience.

No official launch date or pricing has been announced yet, but the combination of a Play Console listing and a global teaser suggests the Y500 4G is very close to going public. Once it launches, the 8,100mAh battery will be the number Vivo leans on in its marketing, and given how consumers shop for phones in this segment, that strategy makes sense.
