Qualcomm’s next entry-level chip may be closer to taking shape than anyone expected. A leaked data sheet, exclusively reported by NotebookCheck, has surfaced details on an unreleased chip internally codenamed SM4875 “Poros” – what appears to be the next chip in Qualcomm’s budget-focused Snapdragon 4 series, likely to launch as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 6.
The document points to a chip built on TSMC’s 4 nm process, a step forward for the Snapdragon 4 line. It also confirms a new Adreno 6-series GPU, support for LPDDR5 memory, and optional connectivity options including Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6.0. The CPU configuration, based on Qualcomm’s Kryo architecture, appears unchanged from the current generation, but the rest of the platform tells a different story.
Budget chips rarely get this kind of attention, but the Snapdragon 4 series powers hundreds of millions of affordable Android phones sold every year across Asia, Latin America, and other price-sensitive markets. Any improvement here has a wide reach, which makes this leak more interesting than it might first appear.

The move to TSMC’s 4 nm node matters for a few reasons. Qualcomm has used TSMC for its higher-end chips, and bringing that manufacturing to the budget tier suggests the company wants to close some of the efficiency and performance gap between its cheap and premium silicon. A smaller process node typically means better battery life and lower heat output, both of which matter a lot in affordable phones that often have smaller batteries and basic cooling.
The new Adreno 6-series GPU is probably the most interesting upgrade here. The current Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 uses an Adreno 613 GPU, which gets the job done for basic tasks but struggles with anything graphically demanding. A new GPU generation could make a real difference for gaming at this price tier, where casual gaming is one of the primary use cases.
Bluetooth 6.0 is also worth noting. The standard is still relatively new and not yet common even in mid-range chips, so its inclusion here would put the Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 ahead of some pricier competition on the wireless side. Bluetooth 6.0 brings improvements to connection accuracy and audio quality, which matters for the wireless earbuds market that has grown significantly in emerging markets.
The CPU staying on the same Kryo configuration is the one area where expectations should stay measured. Raw processing performance will likely be similar to the current generation, meaning the chip is more of a platform refresh than a ground-up redesign. For most everyday tasks that budget phone buyers actually do, that probably won’t matter much. But anyone hoping for a big jump in app performance or multitasking may be disappointed.
A possible 2027 launch window is still a fair way off, so the specs could change before anything goes official. Qualcomm has not confirmed the chip’s existence. Still, data sheets at this level of detail tend to be reliable, and the overall picture it paints is of a budget chip that finally gets some of the infrastructure upgrades that premium Snapdragon chips have had for a couple of years. For the vast number of people buying phones under $200, that’s a worthwhile step forward.
