OnePlus is moving fast with its new N series. The company has announced that the OnePlus N6x will go on sale in India on July 31 at 12:00 PM IST. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India and the official OnePlus online store.
The N6x is the second phone in the OnePlus N series, joining the OnePlus N6 which launched on June 30. This new lineup is widely expected to replace the Nord series as OnePlus’s most affordable range in India, a market where budget smartphones are fiercely competitive and brand loyalty is hard to hold onto.
That context matters. OnePlus built its reputation on flagship-killer devices, but the mid-range and budget segments in India are where the volume is. By retiring the Nord branding and starting fresh with the N series, the company appears to be repositioning itself for a new wave of price-conscious buyers.
OnePlus has already shared design details on its official website ahead of the launch. The phone comes in two colors:
- Burgundy Red
- Ice Blue
The back has a textured flat panel with the OnePlus logo placed in the center. The camera module on the rear is pill-shaped and houses a single lens, along with what may be a secondary cutout for a light sensor to help with photo quality. There is also a built-in LED flash on the module.
On the right side of the phone, you get a power button and volume controls. The top of the device has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a small but meaningful detail for buyers who still use wired headphones and do not want to deal with adapters.
The overall design is expected to be close to the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, suggesting the N6x shares much of its hardware DNA with that model. Full specifications have not been confirmed yet, but with the launch just days away, more details should surface soon.
