The Russian luxury customizer has just launched its Cinema Legends collection, three heavily modified versions of Samsung’s new foldable, each one decked out in hand-applied enamel artwork and 24-karat gold plating. The collection is built around three cinematic icons. Tony Montana from Scarface, Don Vito Corleone from The Godfather, and the Joker each get their own edition. The first two are based on the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the Joker variant steps up to the larger Z Fold 8 Ultra and starts at $12,990. All three are limited to exactly 19 units per design, so this isn’t just expensive, it’s genuinely rare.
The artwork isn’t just printed on. Caviar uses hot cloisonné enamel, a traditional jewelry technique where colored enamel is hand-applied within tiny wire frames. It’s the same method used in high-end watchmaking and decorative metalwork, and it shows. The Scarface edition puts Tony Montana in his white suit against a gold guilloché background. The Godfather model shows Don Corleone in a tuxedo, complete with the marionette strings motif and a small red rose worked into the metalwork. The Joker edition goes full purple, green, and burgundy, with the character holding a hand of playing cards over a radiating geometric pattern. The frames, edges, and camera bumps across all three are plated in 24-karat gold.
So why does this matter beyond being a cool flex? Caviar has been doing this for years, turning flagship smartphones into wearable luxury goods, and the market for it clearly exists. These aren’t bought by your average gadget fan.
