Namco is experimenting extensively with Apple’s mobile platform. The game publisher already has a number of games listed in the AppStore and now they’re trying something a bit different.
The company has unveiled a game pack called Namco Games Portal that comes with 5 of the popular games available as “Lite” versions. Users can try them out for free, and if they like, pay the “upgrade price” to get the full version(s).
Games included in the pack are PAC-MAN Lite, Ace Combat Xi: Skies of Incursion Lite, Galaga REMIX Lite, Dig Dug REMIX Lite and Time Crisis Strike Lite.
And that’s just the start. The company promised to add more titles to Namco Games Portal, allowing users to try before they buy. I’m guessing we’ll see more of their “old school” favorites in the beginning, only to add newer titles at a later point. In the meantime, this kind of a game pack is something every geek should have installed on his or her iPhone, right?
