I’ve seen loads of custom iPad installations in my day. From kitchen cabinet installs to custom arcade cabinets, it seems iPad connoisseurs out there have no limits to their imagination. While most of the ideas I’ve seen thus far have been wild and only mildly practical at best, I stumbled across one this morning that really caught my eye.
Enter ‘FridgePad’, the iPad fridge magnet.
A company named Woodford Design in Britain has released what they are calling the FridgePad… and I want one. The FridgePad is a powerful magnet that not only sticks to your fridge, but the holding power and case is strong enough to hold your iPad firmly in place as well. It can be used in portrait or landscape, and I’ve been told taking the iPad out and placing it back in the case is an absolute breeze.
Now quite honestly, I really don’t know why I need something like this. I probably don’t. But the idea of having my iPad on the front of the fridge actually sounds like a somewhat practical idea. Every day around here, my iPad ends up in some other location in the house. There’s no real ‘home’ for the darn thing. If I had the FridgePad, when I’m done with the thing, on to the fridge it goes. Also, for culinary purposes, I’d be more inclined to use it for recipes and such… heck, even to make my grocery lists (it’s already on the fridge, why not!?).
That said, perhaps after a day or two of use I wouldn’t find it useful at all. Who knows. Guess I’ll have to try the darn thing out to know for sure.
If you want to get your hands on one, you’ll have to wait a bit. The folks at Woodford Design tell me the thing is coming this fall. In the meantime you can check out their website below.
