Samsung has been really pushing their Galaxy S line as hard as they can so you get one of the Super AMOLED-equipped Android smartphones in your hands. The most anticipated of said line is definitely the Sprint Epic 4G, which will be launching next week. We now have a new TV ad for the Samsung Epic 4G, and while it’s not a bad ad, I was hoping for a little more for the best device Samsung has ever launched. The upcoming Sprint phone is called the “Epic,” after all.

The ad opens in a pretty epic scene with ships flying around, and a chase ensues. In the beginning, it almost looks Droid X-esque, and I was hoping for something along those lines, but it does indeed turn into what we’ve come to expect from the Galaxy S ads. Whatever is going on within the ad zooms out, and it’s being played on the gorgeous Super AMOLED display that’s proven to be the star attraction on the AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant and the upcoming Sprint Epic 4G. The ad is pretty short and simple, but I wish there was more going on. Surely Samsung isn’t going to play favorites with their phones, but the Epic 4G deserves some extra attention, I’d say.

The Epic 4G will surely live up to its name, as it’s one of the nicest Android smartphones we’ve ever laid eyes on. The keyboard looks like it adds quite a bit of heft to the devices, but it shouldn’t sway anyone who’s looking for a keyboard on their device. You should come to expect a little more girth to the device with a keyboard, and the Epic 4G is no different. I can’t wait to get this thing in my hands and play around with it.

The Epic 4G isn’t without competition, though. The Droid 2, and the upcoming T-Mobile G2 will provide some great choices for those looking to get a keyboard-toting Android smartphone. We’re just waiting for AT&T to see if they have anything up their sleeve.

Check out the ad below, and tell us what you think about it in the comments.
