Sprint Readies HTC EVO 4G Update

Sprint customers packing the HTC EVO 4G who have been relishing Android 2.2, or Froyo, can look forward to another minor firmware update. Perhaps the biggest change of note is that pesky video limitation on the EVO, the 30fps video output limitation, so we’ll see what happens with that. Other bugs that will be fixed are calendar issue, a GPS problem and multiple Gmail account syncing when the phones were updated to Froyo.

Engadget reports:

Interestingly, Sprint’s official changelog only mentions the calendar and Gmail sync fixes, so it’s possible they’re trying to keep the other two low-key to prevent undue questions and curiosity from folks as they upgrade.

Look for version number 3.29.651.5 when you’re downloading and let us know any changes you notice with your devices.

Want to know how to update your device? Just follow this super simple instructions:

  1. Go to the Home screen
  2. Tap Menu > Settings > System updates > HTC software update
  3. Your EVO will automatically download and install any available updates. You may need to power your phone off and back on to complete the software upgrade.
