Verizon Wireless launches more-than-a-netbook HP Pavilion dm1-2010nr

Verizon Wireless has a new laptop computer in its portfolio – HP Pavilion dm1-2010nr. Before you go “oh here comes another netbook,” let me reassure you – that’s not the case. The new device doesn’t get its power from a way underpowered Intel Atom CPU — rather, it relies on the AMD Athlon II Neo K325 1.3GHz dual-core CPU, which should provide enough power to run even some more serious apps. At the same time, it’s also energy efficient, allowing the computer to work for up to 5 hours with the included 6-cell battery.

In addition, the Pavilion dm1-2010nr also comes with 2GB of RAM (plus one accessible memory slot for upgrades), SIM card slot (so it can be used on virtually any 3G network), ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics, 11.6-inch 1366×768 pixels display, Altec Lansing speakers, integrated webcam and microphone, 320 GB hard drive, while Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit is running the show.

Price wise, Verizon is selling HP’s notebook for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a Mobile Broadband plan, which starts at $39.99. Moreover, folks can also use the device with GlobalAccess plans, starting at $129.99 per month…
