A Motorola Droid 2 Global launch on Verizon is inching ever-closer as we’ve seen price points leak, links to training guides, and even snaps of the device itself. Recently, a chart comparing it to the iPhone 4, Samsung Fascinate, and Incredible has sneaked out. Most of the specs we had heard about before have been confirmed, like upgraded 1.2 GHz processor, Android 2.2, quad-band GSM support for world roaming, and two colour schemes (white and blue). Many of the other specs are the same as the Droid 2, like 3.7″ 854 x 480 touchscreen, 8 GB of built-in memory, and 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash.
Obviously this comparison sheet is heavily favouring the Droid 2 Global versus the other handsets (since this is probably a sales guide for Verizon staff). The few points where it falls short is screen resolution, which is won by the iPhone 4, home screens (which is one by the Scenes-enabled Incredible), and the camera (again, won by the Incredible with an 8 megapixel shooter). Still, a GSM-capable Droid 2 will be the natural choice for frequent travelers, and offer an interesting choice for those outside of the U.S. who really want to get their hands on a Droid 2. From a strictly visual standpoint, the new colours will make the otherwise blocky and intimidating form factor a little more friendly.
