Dell Venue Pro with AT&T 3G gets FCC certification

If you’re an AT&T customer looking forward to try out a Windows Phone 7 device, Dell Venue Pro is not on your list. The problem is/was obvious – it was designed to sing along T-Mobile’s 3G network and there are no ways to use it on AT&T bands (at least to get 3G speeds). No more! The version of the device with WCDMA Band II and V support (i.e. 850 and 1900 MHz) has just crossed the FCC hurdle, meaning it could hit AT&T’s portfolio at some point in the future. We’ve no idea when or even whether that future will happen, but the good thing is that we can hope. With CES coming within less than a month, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Dell going all official with the Venue Pro launch on AT&T. That’s me dreaming at this point, but you never know. They definitely want to reach more customers and having a single carrier partner is a luxury only select players (ahem Apple) can afford…
