Aside from launching a new version of the NetFront mobile browser, ACCESS also unveiled its digital publishing service and technology ecosystem for iOS and Android-based devices. Dubbed ACCESS Digital Publishing Ecosystem, it is said to provide publishers with cost-effective solution that enables them to reach and engage users in a powerful native application format.
The solution includes content conversion and formatting for mobile and tablet devices, content hosting and delivery, a native application storefront, a bookshelf library for organizing and accessing purchased content and a multimedia-capable viewer for interacting with content. By including all those features/components to the mix, ACCESS says Digital Publishing Ecosystem reduces barriers to entry and time-to-market for content providers who wish to digitally publish and distribute their materials.
The company’s first client, Alfred Music Publishing, is the world’s largest educational sheet music publisher. They are using the Digital Publishing Ecosystem to bring sheet music titles to mobile and tablet device users.
