
Location-based services provider TeleNav released results of its annual usage data analysis identifying trends in Americans’ use of GPS technology. Unsurprisingly more and more folks are starting to use navigation capabilities of their phones to guide them along the Nation’s roadways, avoid traffic and to find their favorite destinations. Here are the results:
Most searched U.S. businesses using GPS
- Walmart
- Target
- Starbucks (drop from last year’s 1nd spot)
- Best Buy
- Chase Bank
Bank of America lost its spot in the top five standings.
States/territories with most frequent GPS users
- Washington, D.C.
- Maryland
- Georgia (newcomer to the list)
- California
- Virginia (another newcomer)
Montana is the state with the least frequent mobile GPS users.
U.S. cities where most GPS searches occur
- Los Angeles
- The Dallas/Ft. Worth area

- Pizza

- Chinese (drop from last year’s 2nd spot)

With San Antonio taking the number 10 spot, Texas has three cities in the top 10 list.
