
Mobile ad network Millennial Media is out with February 2011 Mobile Mix report, highlighting the smartphone usage trends. Without further ado, here’s what they got:
- In the first two weeks following the launch, the Verizon iPhone represented 4.5% of all U.S. iPhone impressions on Millennial Media’s network.
- Samsung grew 50% month-over-month to reclaim the number two position on the “Top 15 Manufacturers” ranking. The Samsung Galaxy Tab made its debut as a “Top 30 Mobile Device” and it’s the first tablet to make the ranking. The Korean company also had three new smartphones enter the “Top 30 Mobile Devices” ranking in February, including the Fascinate, Forte and Captivate.
- Android led iOS as the largest smartphone OS on Millennial Media for the third consecutive month with a 51% impression share in February.
- When it comes to tablets, iOS led with 80% of the impression share in February. Android was the second largest with 17% of the impression share.
Millennial Media reaches 90.3 million users monthly in the U.S. According to IDC, it is the third largest mobile ad company with 15.4% marketshare, just behind Google and Apple at 19% each.
