Sprint sure is pulling out all the stops with their spectacularly successful Samsung Instinct. As the first seriously hot smartphone to ship through Sprint’s doors, the struggling national wireless carrier is pushing the Instinct so hard it almost hurts.

Following on Sprint’s latest Instinct-contest offering anyone a chance to win a free Sprint pushes Samsung Instinct contestSprint Samsung Instinct by submitting their cellphone-habits stories, Sprint is offering any YouTube video-makers a cool $20 spot to “shamelessly plug” the Samsung Instinct in a new YouTube flick.

The contest is detailed on Sprint’s Instinct-devoted website – which asks you to “Sell Out  Your Family!”

The first 1,000 YouTube short videos chosen for this contest will net the video-maker a Sprint-endorsed check for $20. One lucky YouTuber will be seeing a grand-prize check for $10,000!

Talk about product placement.

The advertising idea was borne of Sprint’s advertisement experts, Goodby. While product placement in movies and TV shows is not new, homemade short-videos are a novel market for such adverts. It’ll be interesting to see how well Sprint fares in this particular marketing initiative.
