Apple is in the midst of hiring a “Carrier Engineer” which will presumably work on the launch of Sprint’s iPhone. Here’s what the job listing on Apple’s website says:
Member of the Carrier Engineering team that supports taking products through technical approval at the carriers. A Carrier Engineer team is responsible for day-to-day technical interactions with the one or more carriers to track down issues reported by the carrier, assist the carrier with testing they might be conducting and working with program management, software development and test teams to get products approved by the carriers.
Apparently that posting listed a position in Kansas City, MO, which is the location of Sprint’s headquarters. However, when I checked the listing, it said Cupertino, California. It is possible that Jobs & Co. changed it in the meantime to stop the ongoing rumors. Still, it’s fair to add this isn’t the first time we’ve heard Sprint (and T-Mobile) will get its/their iPhone(s). We’ll keep our eyes and ears on the street and let you know as soon as we hear something new…
