MTV launches WatchWith for iPhone, a companion app for its shows

MTV’s WatchWith iPhone app is designed as a co-viewing second screen experience, delivering complimentary and additive content to fans of the popular MTV shows. Available as a free download, the application curates the social conversation on Twitter and Facebook, while also connecting users with the stars of their favorite MTV shows such as Jersey Shore, Teen Wolf and Awkward.

Using the WatchWith app, users can easily filter through all of the comments, showing only the ones that are most “liked” along with those from their friends and followers. Moreover, the application also includes relevant content tied to the narrative directly into the stream, including photos and videos of specific characters, actors and show moments.

Then there are comments and re-tweets from the show’s cast, who will be live tweeting during each episode’s premiere. Finally — presuming you actually watch all (or some of) those shows — you can also access additional content like videos, photos and news pieces…
