Samsung SHV-E120L: 4.7 inch 720p display, 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm chip, and LTE

There’s a device that’s rumored to be coming out in the near future called the Samsung SHV-E120L. It was first spotted as an entry in a database of the NenaMark benchmarking tool in late August, and now today it’s been found in a South Korean online forum. According to said forum posting, the SHV-E120L, which we’re sure will get a better name, is going to pack a 4.7 inch 720p display, a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm processor with an Adreno 220 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear facing camera, 2 megapixel forward facing camera, LTE support, and a massive 1850 mAh battery. When this devices launches it’ll hit South Korea first, and we’ve honestly got no idea if it’ll ever make it to Europe and Asia, much less America. There’s only so many Galaxy S II variants that Samsung can make, that and the fact that this thing has a Qualcomm chip inside must hurt their pride since their in-house Exonys processor has proven itself to be the fastest thing on the planet.

This mysterious device will come with Android Gingerbread onboard, so on that basis alone we can’t recommend it. Google is so close to unveiling Ice Cream Sandwich, the next version of Android, that we find it hard to recommend any Android device, even the amazing Samsung Galaxy S II. Those Samsung Nexus Prime rumors say we can look forward to a device with an HD screen, but it’ll lack LTE support. It’s a small sacrifice, but one we’re willing to pay for so we don’t have to deal with all the crap that operators and handset vendors throw on top of Android in order to differentiate the operating system.

Other than that, there’s not much else to say about this thing except that it’s huge. The only other 4.7 inch smartphone we can think of is the recently announced HTC Titan that runs Windows Phone.
