22% of British iPhone buyers regret purchase

Apple’s smartphone has ranked highest in customer satisfaction for the past five years, but that statistic isn’t stopping British buyers from voicing their complaints. 1,694 British iPhone buyers were surveyed for satisfaction with their iPhone and over 22 percent indicated that they regret buying one. Interestingly, 73 percent of the unhappy participants are men.

The number one reason for regret is jealousy. 43 percent of the 22 percent are jealous of friends and family with other competing smartphones. 25 percent of regretful owners are disappointed with battery life. The third reason for disappointment is lack of physical buttons, garnering 13 percent of the remorseful. The last two issues are difficulty with emails and unhappiness with functionality, with 8 percent and 5 percent of all complaints, respectively.

Battery life troubles have been publicly recognized for some time now. iOS 5.0 was known to have issues, and Apple later released iOS 5.0.1, which fixed the battery life concerns for some while others are still left hanging. The group with the most bizarre complaint was those yearning for more physical buttons. One might assume they recently switched from an Android device with a few more buttons or a regular dumbphone. Also, something to note is that the survey includes all iPhones, not just 4S owners. This could contribute to certain results like jealousy if users still possess older devices.
