Cellular signal booster maker Wilson Electronics is preparing to unveil the world’s first 4G mobile signal booster, the Sleek 4G-V, at CES in Las Vegas. Made to work with Verizon Wireless’ LTE network (at least that’s what the press release suggests), the new device also ensures strong 3G or 2G signals in areas where there’s no LTE around. As a result, users should expect fewer dropped connections and no-service “dead zones,” faster data transfer rates and improved battery life of their mobile devices.

When it comes to the size, the Sleek 4G-V measures 2.5 by 4.5 by 2.5 inches (6.4×11.4×6.4 cm) and weighs only 3 ounces (85 grams).

The only problem is the price – at $149.95, I can’t imagine that many people buying Wilson Electronics’ signal booster and I guess Verizon will have to offer some subsidies to entice users to jump on board. Much easier solution for end-users is to change the operator – to pick the one that has a decent coverage in the area where you live/work…
